Wyo4Kids Launches in Natrona County in Partnership with the Department of Family Services

CASPER, WY — A new community initiative, Wyo4Kids, has officially launched in Natrona County with strong partnership from the Department of Family Services (DFS). Together, Wyo4Kids and DFS are working to strengthen families, support children in crisis, and mobilize the community to meet real, verified needs across the county.

Through this collaboration, DFS caseworkers will identify needs among local families and submit them through Wyo4Kids using the CarePortal platform, a trusted system that connects those needs with local churches, organizations, and individuals ready to respond. Each request represents an opportunity for the community to provide practical help such as a crib, clothing, or grocery support that can make a lasting impact and help keep families safely together.

“Partnering with Wyo4Kids allows us to connect families with meaningful, timely support,” said Korin Schmidt, Director of Wyoming Department of Family Services. “When agencies and the community work together, we create real change for children and families right here in Wyoming.”

Wyo4Kids serves as a bridge between DFS (and eventually other agencies serving Wyoming kids), local churches, and the broader community, creating a network of support for families in crisis. By combining the strengths of faith communities, service agencies, and local partners, the initiative aims to prevent family separation and foster long-term stability for Wyoming’s children.

“We’re honored to launch Wyo4Kids in partnership with DFS,” said Jenica McMaster, Executive Director of Wyo4Kids. “Together, we’re removing barriers so families can receive real-time support. This partnership strengthens the work of DFS, mobilizes churches to serve neighbors in crisis, and gives community members confidence that their help is meeting verified needs—making a real difference for children and families across Wyoming.”

As Wyo4Kids grows, the organization will continue to expand partnerships with local churches, schools, and businesses, offering more opportunities for the community to respond to needs with confidence and compassion.
