The City of Casper is looking for an experienced, collaborative leader to serve as our next Sewer & Stormwater Manager.

This isn’t just an operations position. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop skilled employees responsible for critical City infrastructure
  • Oversee sanitary sewer collection, stormwater drainage, pump stations, maintenance, and related operations
  • Help establish operational priorities, procedures, and long-term goals
  • Play an important role in capital improvement planning and infrastructure investment
  • Manage operational and capital budgets
  • Coordinate projects and contractors
  • Serve as the Regulatory Compliance Officer for sewer and stormwater operations
  • Work collaboratively with City departments, regulatory agencies, contractors, and community partners
  • Make decisions that directly support the health, safety, and quality of life of the Casper community
 
WHAT YOU’LL BRING

The ideal candidate will bring:
  • Experience with sanitary sewer, stormwater, wastewater, utilities, public works, or similar infrastructure operations
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safe operating practices
  • Experience coordinating projects, resources, budgets, or capital improvements
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in sanitary sewer and/or stormwater system operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the position
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, public or business administration, environmental science, or a closely related field is preferred, but not required.
 
CERTIFICATION
Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, a Wyoming Class II Wastewater Collection Certificate within one year of hire.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Wyoming Driver’s License is preferred.
