SUMMARY:The WSO's Triumph
DESCRIPTION:Join the WSO for the final concert of our 21-22 season titled Triumph! Celebrate our first season returning to the concert hall with some long-awaited repertoire as well as some of Wyoming's best young musical talent. We open with a performance of Mussorgsky's Pictures and an Exhibition\, originally programmed for our March 2020 concert which was our first to be canceled from COVID. We will also be re-sparking our partnership with Wyoming Dementia Care's Here and Now Art Class to create some artwork in conjunction with this colorful composition. This will be followed by the winners of the WSO Young Artist Competition\, who back in April auditioned among dozens of other Wyoming musicians. Cooper Kaligis\, our highschool winner from Laramie\, Wyoming will be performing Elgar's Cello Concerto in E Minor\, while college winner Alexis DePaolo will perform Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 2 in D Major. We are so excited to celebrate the close of this season by looking ahead to Wyoming's musical future\, and hope you can all join us to celebrate our first season with all of you back with us in the concert hall.
