DESCRIPTION:BEVERLY REESE & BOB MELOY\n\nBeverly Reese is Director of Music\, Organist/Pianist for St. Mark's Episcopal church. In addition to church duties\, she teaches private piano and holds certifications through the National Music Teachers Association and the American Guild of Organists. She is the President of the Wyoming Music Teachers Association.\n\nBob Meloy\, trombonist\, plays with various ensembles including the Barker Dam brass band in Colorado. He was the recipient of the John Phillip Sousa award in high school and received a Special Citation for Outstanding Musicianship at the Greeley Jazz Festival while playing with the Casper College Dixieland Jazz Band.\n\nBob and Bev enjoy practicing a variety of music together and play often for St. Mark's and other churches. They appreciate the opportunity to once again perform for an ARTCORE Music and Poetry presentation.\n\n \n\n \n\nBARBARA M. SMITH\, POET\n\nPoet Barbara M. Smith\, author of the recently published collection\, Putting a Name on It\, was appointed Wyoming's Poet Laureate by Governor Mark Gordon in October 2023. "Barbara's poetry captures the essence of Wyoming and is instantly relatable\," Governor Gordon said. "Her work speaks to the incredible changes that have taken place in the state and across the West since the arrival of the first pioneers."\n\nSmith taught in the English department at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs for 38 years where she and her husband currently live. Retired\, she continues to teach a college memoir writing course.\n\n \n\n \n\nRefreshments available for purchase 7 7:30 and at intermission.\n\nPartial funding is from the Wyoming Community Foundation   Casper Area\, and the Wyoming Arts Council through the National Endowment for the Arts and the Wyoming State Legislature.
