DESCRIPTION:For this class\, Joy Jones will introduce a variety of slab forms that can be taken from basic to beautiful. Even beginners will be able to make large sophisticated work after learning some simple skills. Students will experience the endless options that drape molds and soft forms can offer while utilizing texture to dress up their work. Students will also learn about adding feet and elevating their pieces to increase complexity. We will have opportunities to decorate slab pieces using sgraffito\, mishima\, marbling\, carving\, and sprigging techniques and we will learn how to overcome difficulties with drawing and how to develop ideas from very simple to complex.
